Among 64 submitted conference papers, 16 papers were selected as “Invited” and “Oral” presentations, and 31 for E-Poster presentation. The presenters were from Iran, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and France. Also, for the first time in Iran, all submitted conference papers were reviewed by the Journal of Research on History of Medicine, and 29 papers were accepted to be published as a supplement issue in this journal. All papers have their own DOIs, and each one is published as an individual paper that will be visible in Scopus.
The civilizations of Iran (Persia) and Türkiye (Anatolia), as historical neighbors, have profoundly influenced the development of medical sciences (Zargaran, 2025, pp. 1-2). There were long-standing interconnected historical, cultural, and scientific relations between them. This important conference helps to investigate and illuminate this pivotal relationship, thereby shedding light on a crucial chapter in the history of medicine, both within the region and globally.
Following this event, an MoU between the rectorates of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and Suleyman Demirel University was signed on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025 (Figure 2).
